Best 5 Places for a Cool off Dip

Summer at Condado de Alhama, Murcia — Top 5 Places to Go for a Dip.

If you've never experienced a Murcia summer, let us set the scene.

Blue skies as far as you can see. Temperatures that make everything feel a little slower, a little easier, a little more like life should always be. And a resort that was quite literally built for days like these.

Welcome to Condado de Alhama Golf Resort in summer. We know you’re gonna love it as much as we do!

The Golden Rules of a Spanish Summer

Early mornings are magical. Get up, get out — a round of golf before 10am, a wander into Alhama town, a swim while the air is still fresh.

From around 1pm to 4pm the heat gets serious — and this is when you need to be sensible. Get near water, stay hydrated, wear a hat and keep that suncream topped up. The Murcia sun is strong and it doesn't mess about. It's also the perfect time to get little ones down for an afternoon nap with the air conditioning on — they'll wake up refreshed and ready for the evening ahead. Be safe — but enjoy every single second of it. This is what you came for.

Where to Cool off in Style

Condado's pools are spectacular — but Murcia has so much more to explore. Here are our favourite nearby spots.

1. Playa de Bolnuevo — 25 minutes
Dramatic sandstone rock formations, long stretches of sand and Blue Flag water quality. Sunbeds for hire and beach bars serving cold drinks and fresh food right on the shore. And keep an eye out for the wooden swing at the top of the hill overlooking the sea — it's an absolute must for that perfect photo. Calm, clear water and genuinely beautiful. This one always delivers.

2. Mazarrón Puerto — 25 minutes
Markets, live music, seafood, food from around the world, ice creams, desserts and cocktails — Mazarrón Puerto has it all. A brilliant, buzzy beach town with something for everyone. Swimming, diving, boat trips and more energy than you'd expect from somewhere so pretty.

3. Aguilas — 45 minutes
A coastal gem with stunning fine sandy beaches and secluded coves with crystal clear water. One of the best places on the Mediterranean coast for scuba diving, a Moorish castle perched on the hill, a harbour front full of fresh seafood restaurants and the kind of quiet, unhurried atmosphere that makes you want to come back every summer. Worth every minute of the drive.

4. La Manga del Mar Menor — 50 minutes
Europe's largest saltwater lagoon — separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of land. The water is warm, shallow and incredibly calm — perfect for families, nervous swimmers and anyone who just wants to float about without a care in the world. Sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and paddleboarding are all available if you fancy something more energetic.

And here's the bit everyone loves — the famous Mar Menor mud baths are completely natural, completely free and suitable for all ages. Just head to the lagoon shore, cover yourself in the mineral rich mud, let it dry in the sun and rinse off in the warm water. Sounds mad. It feels brilliant. The kids will talk about it for years.

5. The Resort Pools — 0 minutes
Twenty pools. Right here. One right outside your apartment! Wristband on, cold drink nearby, book in hand. Sometimes the best decision is the simplest one.

And When the Sun Goes Down?

Al Kasar comes alive. The terraces fill up. The cocktails appear. The temperature drops to something that feels like absolute perfection.

Warm Spanish evenings at Condado are genuinely special — the kind of thing you try to describe to people back home and they just don't quite get it until they've been here themselves.

Come and find out what all the fuss is about.
